Quick and Easy Commercial Lighting
Tower lighting can be used in many different applications, the most obvious being in the construction and maintenance industry. Most people will be familiar with tower lighting in some form, having often seen it being used at roadside motorway works during the night or on construction sites on winter mornings. Tower lighting is of course, excellent in these applications as it can provide a reliable light source that is easy to move and set up. Many good tower light units will come with the option to tilt or move the lights heads even when they have been raised by the mast to the desired height. This provides the option of localising light in one specific area, or of creating a more even illumination around the tower in all directions. It can also be useful for keeping bright lights pointed away from roads or residential areas, where at night their use may cause a nuisance.
Tower lighting is, however, used by many other businesses for a variety of uses. For example, Event companies specifically may find that they have a need for portable yet effective lighting in their business. These companies need to set up or dismantle public events during the night, whether setting up for the coming day or taking items such as staging and rigging down after an event, ready for the next working day.
It is always very important to have adequate lighting when conducting outside work, and a mobile tower lighting unit is the ideal equipment to provide an even and fully adjustable light, which is easy to move from place to place. All professional units will have a fully automated mast that is powered by hydraulics, making it very easy and quick to get the lights up and running once the unit has been secured in place.
Mobile units will be mounted on wheels, and will have a tow bar for attaching to any suitable vehicle for easy transportation. Static units will obviously not have this function, although both mobile and static types will have outriggers to provide stability when in position.
A static tower light is a great way to provide lighting for a large area, although the lighting should be safely away from all customers and members of the public when the mast is erected. Some manner of fencing would of course, need to be assembled around the base unit to comply with health and safety standards, and it may be possible to light a large area with just a few units. This depends on the size and layout of the area to be lit; however it should be easy to fit lighting towers within most outdoor spaces to provide essential lighting for productivity, staff welfare and site health and safety requirements. This way, work, business or social activities can continue even though the sun has gone down.
