Mobile lighting – for a range of applications
Mobile lighting can be used in a variety of ways and is both cost effective and easily transportable. It can be both hired in for a project and indeed permanently installed around a building or site to provide security or flood lights for any open air activities. Perhaps you’re working in an area of construction or on some road maintenance during the winter period, well the challenge you will face is not only the cold weather but the limited daylight hours afforded to you to work effectively in.
Mobile lighting is the obvious solution, allowing the work to carry on for as long as is needed, whether it is late at night or early morning. Mobile lighting helps to ensure that there is sufficient illumination in the working environment to help obviate any potential health and safety hazards. It allows for complex tasks to be carried out efficiently and accurately in small or large scale areas.
The work place, however, is not the only place where mobile lighting comes in useful; sports stadiums across the globe have used flood lights, a form of mobile lighting, for many years now. They provide a vast amount of constant light to cover a playing surface which, not only benefits the teams on the field of play but also provides the spectators with a great view of the action. In fact having floodlights has allowed for all spectator sports to take place past sun down, this has opened up a huge window of opportunity for more events to take place, greater capacity of stadia and thus the financial growth of spectator sports.
Mobile lighting has another use that is improving the quality of life of the younger generation. Across the UK you will see more and more outdoor sports facilities that have been set up and designed to give the younger generation a place to ‘hang out’, which is both safe and well lit but also provides them with an opportunity to play recreational sports and learn new skills outside of the school environment.
So that leads us neatly onto schools. School playgrounds and the surrounding sports fields are often floodlit, providing an after school activity for many youngsters to get involved in during the darker months of the year. The same can be said for film and TV sets, with many varied scenes requiring a range of different levels of lighting, the mobile light is fundamental to the crew being able to produce and authentic piece of work, not only does the light illuminate the environment it also provides a stimulus upon which the actor can build a scene from. Think of the number of films that contain scenes shot at night; these would not be possible without the use of mobile lighting.
In fact, mobile lighting has opened the doors to a wide range of work and recreational opportunities, simply by providing a basic service that these activities cannot exist without. Take away mobile lighting and you have a very limited scope with which to work within.
