Lighting Tower for excellent night time visibilityThe robust TL-90 lighting tower is designed and manufactured by SMC in the UK and combines engineering excellence with a comprehensive list of features that guarantee using the light tower is an absolute breeze. The new TL–90 lighting tower is truly compact with a remarkably small ground footprint of only 250 x 132 cm. Despite its size the TL–90 light tower incorporates simple yet effective ideas such as rear access fork pockets and a central lifting eye to make movement of the tower easier for users. SMC consistently leads the way amongst lighting tower manufacturers having created a compact light tower that occupies less space on a site, during transit and when in storage. This provides both cost saving benefits and easier light tower manoeuvrability. Yet thanks to engineering that includes a low centre of gravity, together with 4 stabilisers, stability and safe use of the tower light is assured even in high winds. Surprisingly, for a compact tower light, the TL-90 has a large 130Litre fuel tank which enables it to run for 85 hours between refuelling. One of the most important safety factors found in an SMC lighting tower is the fixed vertical mast. SMC’s innovative mast design combines a 9 stage telescopic mast that can rise to its full potential height of 9 metres in only 12 seconds. Mast actuation is hydraulic and features 360º rotation allowing precise directional control of the ultra bright 4 x 1000Watt Metal Halide Lights. Unlike older lighting towers with horizontal/vertical pivoting mast designs, the fixed vertical mast TL-90 descends safely within the confines of the tower light. A safety mechanism linked to the lighting tower park brake eliminates the possibility of a TL-90 being moved without the mast automatically descending. Other important light tower features include those that make a positive contribution to the environment. Full bunding with 120% capacity of all engine fluids, use of biodegradable oil in the hydraulic system and supersilent operation (only 60dB[A]) are three such examples. Another, is the new optional Autorun timing feature which once set can automatically switch on the tower light at dusk and off again at dawn. The all round savings here provide impressive benefits to the lighting tower owner, the contractor or user and to the environment. Less fuel is used, there is less labour and lower labour costs, less engine maintenance and spare parts as a result of timed operation and less noise and exhaust emission into the environment. If you would like an overview of the lighting tower in use you can watch the TL-90 video now on this site, or if you prefer, contact us for more information.
